Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal is taking every possible measure to provide relief and rehabilitation to the flood victims. These views were expressed by the Managing Director of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM), Senator Captain Shaheen Khalid Butt, while presiding over an important online meeting to review the PBM’s relief activities for the flood affected families.
Director General PBM projects Professor Dr. Zeeshan Danish, Director Projects Qasim Zafar, and other officials attended the meeting. Managing Director PBM also chaired an online session and received briefings from all provincial and regional directors regarding ongoing relief activities for flood victims.
The Managing Director was informed that Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal staff, in collaboration with local administrations and various welfare organizations, is providing food, dry milk, medicines, tents, clothing, and other essential items to flood-affected people in the impacted districts. Furthermore, under its project "Khana Sab Kay Ley (Food for Everyone)", PBM is also delivering meals and relief goods to affected individuals using mobile food trucks and is providing temporary shelter in shelter homes.
Captain Shaheen issued instructions to the concerned officers to serve the flood victims with utmost dedication and commitment. He also directed that, after meeting the immediate needs of the victims, steps should be taken for their economic rehabilitation. District offices should be mobilized to arrange temporary accommodation and food for flood victims in Sweet Homes and Women Empowerment Centers.
PBM’s Chief reaffirmed the commitment that flood victims should not feel abandoned in this difficult time. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal is doing everything it can to ease their suffering. Senator Captain Shaheen Khalid Butt further stated that effective measures will be taken for the education and upbringing of children orphaned by the floods, and wheelchairs and prosthetic limbs will be provided to those who became disabled.
He also emphasized that addressing the immediate needs of food and shelter for flood victims is a critical necessity; all philanthropists and welfare organizations across the country should join hands with the government to fulfill their religious, humanitarian, and national responsibilities.
