Message by Federal Minister for Science and Technology Khalid Hussain Magsi on 6th September – Defence and Martyrs Day

Islamabad: September 06, 2025

6th September, Defence and Martyrs Day, marks the renewal of our firm resolve to keep Pakistan’s defense strong and unshakable. It is a day to remember the unparalleled sacrifices made by our Armed Forces and the people of Pakistan in protecting our beloved homeland. Today, we pay heartfelt tribute to the martyrs who gave their lives for the country’s security and salute the veterans whose courage and dedication remain a source of pride and inspiration for the entire nation.

In today’s era, the nature of warfare has evolved, with hybrid threats and modern challenges extending far beyond conventional weaponry. Our adversaries employ propaganda, cyberattacks, disinformation, and psychological warfare as tools of aggression. In such circumstances, self-reliance in science and technology and the modernization of our defense systems are essential to safeguarding national security. The Ministry of Science and Technology reaffirms its unwavering commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s research, innovation, and defense capabilities to meet these challenges effectively.

On this Defence Day, let us pledge to work together for a secure, advanced, and prosperous Pakistan, fulfilling our individual and collective responsibilities. Honoring the families of martyrs and preserving the memory of their sacrifices is both a moral and national duty. The spirit of September will always live on, reflecting the bravery of our Armed Forces and the resilience of our people. No force can deter us from the path of sovereignty, freedom, and dignity.
