The Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Khalid Hussain Magsi, attended the PEC Engineers’ Excellence Awards 2023 ceremony, organized by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in Islamabad, where 30 eminent engineers were honored across eight categories for their outstanding contributions to Pakistan’s progress and development.
The Minister conferred the awards upon the distinguished engineers in the presence of foreign delegates, parliamentarians, bureaucrats, senior engineers, and prominent figures from diverse walks of life.
Addressing the ceremony, Federal Minister Khalid Hussain Magsi lauded the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) for organizing the awards, stating:
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) for this laudable initiative. The PEC Engineers’ Excellence Awards 2023 stand as a tribute to the exemplary achievements of our eminent engineers, whose invaluable contributions continue to drive Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.”
The Minister praised PEC’s initiatives, including the Smart PEC Drive, Special Programs for Balochistan, PEC Desks in Higher Education Institutions, Graduate Engineers Training Program (GET), Generative AI courses, and the Young Engineers National Forum. He also highlighted PEC’s global achievements such as Pakistan’s six-year membership extension under the Washington Accord and the Mutual Recognition Agreement with China.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman PEC Engr. Waseem Nazir congratulated the awardees and emphasized PEC’s role in advancing engineering education, professional excellence, and international recognition. He reaffirmed PEC’s commitment to youth empowerment, sustainability, and mentoring emerging engineering councils globally.
