Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Mr. Khalid Hussain Magsi, met today with Mr. Fuad Pashayev, UNESCO Representative in Pakistan, to discuss ways of deepening cooperation in advancing Pakistan’s science, technology, and innovation agenda.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on promoting STEM education, digital innovation, the ethical use of artificial intelligence, and open science. UNESCO also encouraged Pakistan’s active participation in the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development (2024–2033) and the upcoming October consultation on the UNESCO Convention on Underwater Cultural Heritage.
Federal Minister Khalid Hussain Magsi reaffirmed his strong support for UNESCO’s initiatives and assured that the Ministry of Science and Technology will extend its full cooperation. He further committed to convening a meeting of all relevant stakeholders of the Ministry to align efforts and enhance collaboration with UNESCO.
Both sides reiterated their resolve to strengthen research, innovation, and international engagement for the sustainable development of Pakistan.
