Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Division, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, inaugurated the third edition of the Young Graduates Exhibition titled “Shared Distances” at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) on Wednesday. The Ambassador of Kingdom of Morocco was also present on the occasion.
Curated by Noor Fatima, the exhibition showcases works by over 40 emerging artists from leading fine arts institutions of the twin cities, including the National College of Arts, Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi Women University, and COMSATS University.
The exhibition explores themes of presence and absence, intimacy and detachment, and the fluidity of memory in a world where connections are increasingly fleeting. Through diverse mediums such as painting, printmaking, sculpture, miniatures, and installation, the artists reflect on resilience, longing, transformation, and shared human experience.
Artists featured in the exhibition include Amna Wajahat, Areeba Naeem, Fatima Khan, Hazafa Asim, Mishal Mahsud, Nida Zainab, Saleha Naseem, Samreen Rehman, Tayyaba Qureshi, Zakia Irfan Khan, and Zainab Akram, among others.
Speaking at the inauguration, Minister Aurangzeb Khan Khichi praised PNCA’s efforts in promoting young talent and providing them a national platform. He emphasized the importance of supporting emerging artists in order to preserve and advance Pakistan’s rich cultural and artistic heritage.
The exhibition, which opened on August 27, will continue until September 10, 2025, at PNCA Galleries 5 & 6. It remains open to the public from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily, except Saturdays.
