Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visits Railway HQ, reviews nationwide security measures

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Railway Headquarters and participated in a special meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi. During the meeting, a detailed review was carried out regarding the security measures of Pakistan Railways.

During the meeting, Interior Minister was briefed on special measures for the security of railway lines and trains across the country, particularly in Balochistan. It was also decided to start a joint crackdown against encroachments on railway land. The Federal Constabulary will participate in the anti-encroachment operation alongside the Railway Police, and will fully cooperate with the Railway Police in this operation. It was also decided to operate a train between Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that every possible measure will be taken to ensure foolproof security of railway tracks and trains, and full assistance will be provided to the Railway Police. “The safety of passengers is our top priority,” he added.

The Interior Minister also appreciated the unique measures taken under Hanif Abbasi’s leadership to improve the performance of Railways. Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi thanked Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for the assistance of the Federal Constabulary in eliminating encroachments.

Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Railways Aamir Ali Baloch, Inspector General of Railway Police Rai Tahir, and senior officials also attended the meeting.
