Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi receives a phone call from his Iranian Counterpart; Iran Offers Full Support to Flood Victims

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi received a phone call from his Iranian Counterpart Sikandar Momeni. The Iranian Interior Minister expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of precious human lives caused by torrential rains and floods in Pakistan, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan. He extended condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for their patience and strength. He also offered cooperation and support to Pakistan in assisting the flood victims. The Iranian Interior Minister said that Pakistan is our brotherly neighboring country, and in these trying times, Iran is ready to extend every possible support. He added that it was deeply saddening to witness the devastation caused by floods in Pakistan, where hundreds of people have lost their loved ones. “We stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Pakistan,” he emphasized.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi thanked his Iranian counterpart for the offer of assistance and expression of solidarity for the flood victims. He said that Iran and Pakistan share both happiness and grief. Highlighting the grave situation, Mohsin Naqvi stated that climate change is becoming a harbinger of catastrophic destruction in Pakistan, and for the first time in history, the country is facing such a dangerous climatic scenario. He further said that all institutions are in the field to support the flood victims, and their rehabilitation and relief remain the Government’s top priority.
