PAKISTAN HOUSE HOSTS RECEPTION IN ANKARA TO COMMEMORATE THE 78TH INDEPENDENCE DAY ANNIVERSARY OF PAKISTAN

The Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara hosted a reception at Pakistan House in celebration of the 78th anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence Day. The event brought together members of the Pakistani community residing in Turkiye, as well as Turkish dignitaries and friends of Pakistan, in a vibrant expression of national pride and cultural heritage.

Guests were received with the warmth and generosity characteristic of traditional Pakistani hospitality. The occasion was marked by an array of cultural displays, authentic Pakistani cuisine, and stirring renditions of national songs, all contributing to an atmosphere of unity and festivity as the diaspora celebrated their homeland’s independence while abroad.

The reception was graced by the presence of Mr. Burhan Kayaturk, former Chairperson of the Pakistan-Turkiye Parliamentary Friendship Group and Member of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. In his remarks, Mr. Kayaturk extended warm felicitations to the Pakistani nation and recalled his personal connection with Pakistan, particularly his formative years as a student there. He highlighted the historic and fraternal bond shared by Pakistan and Turkiye, describing it as a divine blessing. He reiterated Turkiye’s unwavering solidarity with Pakistan and expressed confidence in a shared future built on mutual respect, trust, and cooperation.

In his address, Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkiye, Dr. Yousaf Junaid appreciated the invaluable contributions of the Pakistani community in promoting Pakistan’s image and underscored their pivotal role in advancing national interests and enhancing people-to-people contacts between the brotherly Pakistan and Turkiye.

Ambassador Junaid paid homage to the sacrifices of Pakistan’s founding fathers, reaffirming the nation’s unwavering commitment to peace, progress, and prosperity. Referring to Pakistan’s recent triumphs in Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, he emphasized that these achievements have reinvigorated the spirit of the Pakistan Movement and reaffirmed the validity of the Two-Nation Theory.

Reiterating Pakistan’s principled stance on Kashmir issue, Ambassador Junaid reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast solidarity with the Kashmiri brethren in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and reiterated Pakistan’s continued political, moral, and diplomatic support for their legitimate right to self-determination.

The event concluded with prayers for Pakistan’s progress, peace and prosperity.
