Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting addresses a Gathering at Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Rawalpindi
Rawalpindi: 12 August, 2025

Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, has said that Pakistan came into being through the eternal sacrifices of our forefathers and the spirit of Kalimah-e-Haq, which makes it impossible to defeat. He was addressing the Pothohar Awards ceremony at Radio Pakistan, held in connection with the 78th Independence Day celebrations.

He said that in the recent war of May 6, the entire nation stood as a wall of steel and defeated an enemy with far greater resources. He added that the spirit of 1947 and the resolve of "La ilaha illallah Muhammadur Rasulullah" cannot be defeated, as it unites the nation into a strong, indivisible entity.

Barrister Danyal Chaudhry emphasized that performance is the foundation of nation-building, and recognition should always be based on merit and excellence — not criticism or mudslinging. He congratulated the artists who received awards at the ceremony for their outstanding performances, noting that success depends on hard work and dedication.

He stressed that it is the responsibility of all citizens to pass down to the next generation the stories of sacrifices and the timeless struggle for independence. Highlighting reconciliation as the best path to progress, he said that revenge is the act of the weak, while reconciliation propels nations forward.

Speaking on social values, Barrister Danyal said that children must be taught to respect and obey their parents, as this tradition strengthens society. He appealed to educationists and role models to guide the youth towards a positive direction, warning that the decline of family values leads to social harm.

Announcing measures for the development of Radio Pakistan and PTV, he said he is working with Director General Radio Pakistan, Saeed Sheikh, on plans to uplift the institution. He also proposed that a system be developed through the Excise and Taxation Department to promote radio in every vehicle and provide financial support for the institution.

The event was attended by senior PML-N leader, Leader of the Parliamentary Party in the Senate, and Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, as the chief guest. Awards were presented to outstanding artists, scriptwriters, program hosts, producers, poets, and distinguished technical staff.
