Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Pirzada Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, chaired a high-level review meeting on ongoing social protection initiatives in Balochistan. The meeting was attended by Senator (R) Captain Shaheen Khalid Butt, Managing Director of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, along with other senior officials.
The meeting reviewed a range of initiatives being implemented across underprivileged districts of Balochistan, including vocational training for women, scholarship schemes for youth, and protection programmes for marginalized communities. The minister instructed PBM to ensure robust monitoring of all programmes and stressed the importance of communicating outcomes effectively to the public to uphold transparency and inclusivity.
"Without placing women and youth at the heart of development, sustainable change in Balochistan will remain elusive," the minister said. "We are committed to ensuring that facilities reach every district and that resources benefit the most deserving segments of society."
He further reiterated that the government's approach is not limited to short-term relief but is rooted in long-term stability and self-reliance. He announced that in the next phase, he will personally visit universities, training centres, and welfare units across the province to promote need-based and ground-sensitive policymaking.
The minister also expressed deep grief over the loss of lives and widespread damage caused by the recent cloudbursts and torrential rains in several parts of the country. "The pain of families affected by these natural disasters is our shared pain," he stated. "The federal government stands in complete solidarity with them and will actively support every stage of the recovery process."
In conclusion, the minister reaffirmed the Prime Minister’s vision, stating that the federal government is fully committed to making Balochistan a pivotal region in the country’s journey towards inclusive and sustainable national development.
