Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Orders FIA Overhaul and Crackdown against Illegal Immigration mafia

Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi paid a visit to the FIA Headquarters in Islamabad. He offered Fateha and laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument, paying rich tribute to the great sacrifices of the martyrs.

? ?The Interior Minister chaired a high-level meeting at the FIA Headquarters where it was decided to reorganize the FIA on modern lines. He called for a comprehensive plan and directed immediate work on necessary amendments in laws and rules to make the agency more effective. He also approved the immediate provision of modern technology and essential weaponry to the FIA.

? ?Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that the FIA must meet public expectations in line with government directives. He stated that the agency’s performance will be the basis for further incentives. He ordered a indiscriminate crackdown against the mafia involved in illegal immigration and the adoption of a zero-tolerance policy against it. He highlighted that it is FIA’s prime responsibility to stop elements tarnishing the country's image.

? Interior Minister directed that the immigration process at the airports should be simplified and made more convenient ?to facilitate the citizens. He also instructed the establishment of Fast Track Counters at the airports. Moreover, he directed that the FIA training curriculum be updated according to modern standards.

? ?Given the shortage of staff, the Minister ordered immediate recruitment on already approved vacant positions. He also sought a master plan for the renovation of the FIA Headquarters building. Furthermore, he instructed the transfer of the FIA Academy to the newly allocated land and called for the early restoration of the Karachi Zonal Office.

? ?Director General FIA, Raja Riffat Mukhtar, briefed the Interior Minister on the ongoing reforms within the organization. Minister of State for Interior Tallal Chaudhry, Secretary Interior, Chairman CDA, and senior FIA officers were also present on the occasion.
