According to the analysis of National Emergencies Operation Center, a significant increase in temperature has been observed in the northern regions of Pakistan, particularly in GB and upper KP, resulting in the melting of glaciers and snow cover, thereby increasing river flows. The areas that require vigilant attention are the Ghujerab River and Shimshal River at Hunza, Braldu River at Shigar, Husher and Saltaro rivers at Ghancha, and Uzhnu Gol in Chitral. Precautionary measures: Residents near major rivers and streams/nullahs should stay vigilant for sudden rises in water levels, especially at night and during heavy rainfall. Keep updated with official flood warnings through TV, radio, and mobile alerts. Identify safe evacuation routes for communities near rivers and nullahs. Secure household valuables, Vehicles, and livestock at elevated safe spots. Keep emergency kits, food, drinking water, and medical supplies ready for 3-5 days. Avoid travel near glacial lakes, rivers, and narrow valleys. Stay alert to unusual sounds or rising water levels; move to higher ground if needed. Follow alerts and instructions from authorities.
