The Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) continue to strengthen its commitment to youth development with two major engagements in Islamabad. A Letter of Intent (LOI) was signed between PMYP and Enablers at the Prime Minister’s Office, and a second high-level meeting to review progress on the upcoming First National Youth Games was convened at the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC).
At the PM Office, the PMYP formalized a strategic partnership with Enablers to collaborate across the 4Es framework—Education, Employment, Engagement, and Environment—aimed at expanding youth-focused opportunities nationwide. Under this partnership, Enablers will support skill development programs, offer job placement and internship opportunities, and contribute actively to the Prime Minister’s Digital Youth Hub (DYH)—a centralized platform to empower Pakistani youth.
Joint initiatives discussed include the Young Entrepreneur Fest, which will provide young innovators a national platform to present their business ideas and interact with industry leaders. The collaboration will also promote women empowerment through scholarships, mentorships, and leadership-building initiatives, especially targeting barriers to inclusion. Both sides agreed on shared branding for activities and a coordinated social media campaign to promote PMYP programs, DYH, and youth empowerment resources throughout the country.
On the same day, the second consultative meeting on the First National Youth Games was held at the Ministry of IPC, following the initial meeting that laid the groundwork for the landmark event. The National Youth Games—organized by PMYP in collaboration with the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) and with IPC’s support—are scheduled for September 2025. The event will involve over 15 sports disciplines for youth aged 14 to 17, and is being held at a national scale for the first time since 1948.
This follow-up meeting focused on reviewing implementation progress, including athlete selection procedures, structure of regional qualifiers, venue readiness, and inter-agency coordination. The meeting brought together senior officials and stakeholders from various federal and provincial departments, along with representatives from the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA). Participants attended both in person and virtually, reflecting a strong national commitment to ensure the success of this landmark event. The meeting emphasized transparency, merit, and inclusivity in the selection and execution processes.
Chairman PMYP Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan reiterated the importance of using sports as a tool for youth engagement and national unity, and called for accelerating operational efforts to ensure successful execution. Stakeholders appreciated the momentum behind the Games and reaffirmed their commitment to making the First National Youth Games a landmark success.
Together, these two key developments reflect the government’s unwavering focus on youth inclusion, digital access, sports development, and creating sustainable platforms for young Pakistanis to thrive in every domain.
