Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Muhammad Aurangzeb Khichi, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Senator Irfan ul Haq Siddiqui for their firm stance on preserving the country’s national literary, cultural, and academic institutions.
The Minister appreciated the Prime Minister’s categorical statement rejecting any proposal to dissolve or merge institutions of literary, historical, and cultural significance. He said the announcement has brought a great sense of relief and encouragement to the literary community, intellectuals, artists, and cultural stakeholders across the country.
The Minister stated that the Prime Minister’s commitment to strengthening and revitalizing these institutions is a step toward safeguarding Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage and intellectual legacy. He said that the Prime Minister’s vision ensures these institutions will not only be preserved but also reformed and expanded to meet the demands of the modern era.
He also lauded Senator Irfan ul Haq Siddiqui for raising timely concerns and effectively conveying the apprehensions of the literary and academic communities to the Prime Minister.
The Minister reaffirmed the Ministry’s resolve to take all possible measures, in line with the Prime Minister’s direction, to enhance the performance and outreach of these institutions and to connect the younger generation with their cultural roots.
