Federal Hospital Employees Demand Restoration of Health Risk Allowance

Islamabad: June 20, 2025

A delegation representing employee associations of federal hospitals met with senior officials of the Ministry of National Health Services today to discuss the current status of the Health Risk Allowance, challenges faced by healthcare staff, and the urgent need for reinstating the allowance.

The delegation emphasized that, in light of persistently rising inflation, the Health Risk Allowance frozen since 2014 must be restored

They urged the federal government to consider the difficulties faced by healthcare workers and reinstate the Health Risk Allowance immediately.

After hearing the delegation’s concerns, senior officials of the Ministry of Health assured full support for the employees' legitimate demands. The Ministry affirmed that it would extend all possible cooperation and facilitate the matter with the Ministry of Finance to ensure a timely resolution of the issue.
