Islamabad: May 26, 2025

Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, chaired an important meeting today to review and assess the current situation of sugar stocks in the country. The meeting was attended by relevant stakeholders and senior officials from the ministry and concerned departments.

Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain emphasized the importance of reliable and real-time data. He stated, “Decisions regarding the import and export of sugar will henceforth be based on verifiable data collected through this new system. This will help stabilize domestic markets and safeguard the interests of both farmers and consumers.”

The Ministry of National Food Security & Research remains committed to enhancing policy decisions through data-driven approaches and fostering a sustainable agricultural economy.
