FEDERAL MINISTER ENGR AMIR MUQAM CHAIRS MEETING ON SIRA PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION

Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit Baltistan, and SAFRON, Engr Amir Muqam, chaired a high-level meeting on Friday to review the progress of the Strengthen Institutions for Refugee Administration (SIRA) project at the Ministry.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Kashmir Affairs, GB and SAFRON Zafar Hasan, Additional Secretary Kamran Rehman Khan, Senior Joint Secretary Agha Waseem Ahmed, and Chief Commissioner of the Afghan Commissionerate, Asmatullah Shah, along with other senior officials.

During the meeting, the Chief Commissioner and relevant officers provided a detailed briefing on the current status of the SIRA project and shared updates regarding its implementation.

Emphasizing the urgency of the initiative, Federal Minister Amir Muqam directed all senior officials to accelerate the pace of work to ensure timely execution. He reiterated that the core objective of the SIRA project is to enhance the organizational and institutional capacity for effectively managing refugees and host communities across Pakistan.

"The development of robust administrative systems is crucial for addressing the challenges faced by both refugees and the communities that host them," the minister stated. He underlined the government’s commitment to building a responsive and efficient refugee management framework in line with international standards.

The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge to streamline interdepartmental coordination and ensure that the project's goals are achieved efficiently and sustainably.
