Islamabad: May 20, 2025

Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Barrister Danyal Chaudhry reaffirmed the government’s commitment to public relief and national cohesion during Tuesday’s pre-budget dialogue, “Rethinking Economic Policy for a Just Energy Transition,” organized jointly by PRIED and SDPI. Despite Pakistan’s constrained fiscal environment under IMF conditions, he pledged targeted efforts to ease citizen burdens through revised policies for used cars, electric vehicles, and affordable energy access. “We will work within these limits to turn contention into consensus and scarcity into shared prosperity,” he asserted, emphasizing bipartisan collaboration to prioritize inclusive growth and equitable resource-sharing.

Addressing national unity, Parliamentary Secretary underscored Balochistan’s integral role in Pakistan’s identity, celebrating shared struggles across provinces despite linguistic differences. “Our strength lies in our people—from Sindh’s farmers to Balochistan’s students and Punjab’s mothers—all fighting for dignity and hope,” he stated. Highlighting ongoing development projects in Balochistan, he praised young provincial lawmakers for advocating local issues and vowed long-term solutions through community-led leadership under the PML-N’s approach.

On energy reforms, Barrister Danyal advocated decentralizing power distribution by transferring DISCOs to provincial control to improve accountability. He also outlined plans to expand solar energy through localized micro-grids, aiming to bridge rural-urban energy gaps while respecting provincial autonomy. Stressing the Council of Common Interests’ role in federal-provincial coordination, he linked Pakistan’s economic resilience to institutional reform and collective resolve: “By harmonizing efforts and centering public needs, we can navigate constraints and build a sustainable future.”
