Federal Minister for Health, Mr. Mustafa Kamal, held a high-level meeting with the Minister of Health of China, resulting in significant progress on enhancing bilateral collaboration in the health sector.

Minister Mustafa Kamal highlighted that Pakistan possesses strong potential for local production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), vaccines, medical devices, and diagnostic equipment. He reaffirmed the Government of Pakistan’s commitment to fully facilitating Chinese investment in these key areas of the healthcare industry.

The two sides also discussed collaboration in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). “Chinese experts working in Traditional Chinese Medicine will be provided every possible support,” said Minister Kamal.

In a major institutional step, the Minister announced that a dedicated desk for Chinese companies will be established at the National Institute of Health (NIH), with a formal notification to be issued soon. This will serve as a one-window operation to streamline communication and support.

The Chinese Minister praised Minister Kamal’s proactive engagement and acknowledged his strong follow-up on advancing health cooperation between the two countries.
