The 77th World Health Assembly is currently underway in Geneva, with Pakistan actively engaging in key side-line meetings to advance its health diplomacy agenda.
Federal Minister for Health, Mustafa Kamal, held a significant bilateral meeting with the Minister of Health of the People’s Republic of China. The two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest and expressed a strong resolve to enhance cooperation in the health sector.
Highlighting the historic bond between the two nations, Mustafa Kamal stated, “The friendship between Pakistan and China is exemplary. The hearts of our people beat in unison.” He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to deepening health sector collaboration, noting that both countries stand to benefit from each other's experiences and innovations.
During the meeting, both sides explored opportunities for cooperation in vaccine production, traditional medicine, and the adoption of advanced medical technologies. Kamal emphasized that the Government of Pakistan is committed to expanding domestic production of vaccines and medicines to reduce dependence on imports and strengthen the national healthcare system.
“This meeting marks a significant step forward in strengthening bilateral cooperation in health,” Kamal said. “Under the guidance of the Prime Minister, health sector reforms are underway to build a more resilient and self-reliant system.”
The Chinese Health Minister also reaffirmed his country’s commitment to enhancing collaboration with Pakistan, stressing the importance of sharing experiences and advancing mutual goals in healthcare development.
