Highlighting the importance of understanding and cooperation in building a cohesive society, he stated that Pakistan—envisioned by its founder as a haven for all faiths—remains steadfast in its constitutional commitment to safeguarding the right to faith, dignity, and equality of every citizen.
He expressed these views while speaking to media representatives prior to his departure for Rome to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Pope Leo.
Chairman Senate will represent Pakistan at the ceremony, reaffirming the country’s commitment to promoting interfaith harmony on the global stage.
It may be recalled that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif nominated Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani to represent Pakistan on this important visit.
