Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), PEIRA, Special Education and Non Formal Educational (NFE) along with all Madrassas under the directions of Prime Minister of Pakistan, observed Youm-e-Tashakur in all of the educational institutions today, on Friday, May 16, 2025 to honour the historic victory of Marka-e-Haq and pay tribute to the valiant armed forces of Pakistan.

Special morning assemblies were conducted in all the educational institutions of Islamabad to celebrate this special day and express solidarity with the Armed Forces of Pakistan and to pay homage to the Shuhada (martyrs) who have laid down their lives in national defense.

Flag hoisting ceremonies were held during morning assemblies. Heads of the institutions in their speeches during the assemblies talked about the importance of independence and highlighted the positive role of the Pakistan Armed Forces during the current war. Area Education Officers also attended morning assemblies in educational institutions in their respective sectors.

Students paid glowing tributes to the bravery of the armed forces. They prayed for the martyrs of the war for their highest ranks in Jannah. The day was marked with special spirit and enthusiasm over the triumphant success of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, a significant initiative that played a critical role in reinforcing national security and peace against the evil designs of the enemy.

The observance of Youm-e-Tashakur served as a powerful reminder of the resilience, bravery, and sacrifices of Pakistan’s military personnel and law enforcement agencies during the difficult times. All Heads of Educational Institutions organized Hoisting Ceremonies, and the day started with a formal raising of the national flag, accompanied by the national anthem, recitations from the Holy Quran, and special prayers for national progress and the martyrs.

Different Cultural and Patriotic Activities, such as tableau performances, poetry recitals (Milli Naghmay), debates, essay competitions, and exhibitions highlighting Pakistan’s history, heritage, and military achievements, were organized to foster a sense of pride and historical awareness.

The staff, students, and community paid great tribute to Shuhada and Ghazis by observing Moments of silence in their honor. Video documentaries, wall displays, and guest speeches by veterans or defence experts were also arranged to educate attendees on the sacrifices of the Armed Forces and the significance of Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsoos. On Friday, 16th May 2025 at 11:00 AM, a contingent of 200 students, comprising both male and female participants from institutions under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), undertook a solemn visit to Yadgar-e-Shuhada located in F-9 Park, Islamabad. The primary objective of this visit was to pay homage to the valiant martyrs of the Bunyan-um-Marsoos and to inculcate a profound sense of patriotism among the youth.

In a gesture of reverence, students offered flower petals and bouquets at the monument, symbolizing national gratitude and collective remembrance. The occasion was further dignified by thoughtful reflections shared by students with media representatives, wherein they articulated their admiration for the sacrifices rendered by the armed forces. Through these expressions, the enduring values of unity, courage, and national solidarity were meaningfully reinforced.

This commemorative event not only served as an impactful educational experience but also deepened the students’ appreciation for the legacy of those who have selflessly defended the sovereignty and honor of the nation.
