Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Syed Imran Ahmed Shah visits Pakistan Bait ul Mal office in Sahiwal to oversee the operations of the regional office

Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Pirzada Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, visited the Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal office in Sahiwal today. He was warmly received by Deputy Director Regional Office Lahore, Mansoor-ul-Hassan, Assistant Director Umar Afzal, and Office Assistant Nasrullah Khan.

During his visit, the Federal Minister conducted a detailed review of the department’s performance. He emphasized the need for further improvement in the Women Empowerment Centers to enhance women’s autonomy. He acknowledged the critical role of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal in providing treatment for serious illnesses to hundreds of thousands of patients, awarding educational scholarships to deserving students, and equipping women with vocational skills.

The Minister urged department officials to prioritize resolving citizens' issues. He also listened to the grievances of the staff and assured them of timely redressal.

In a briefing, Assistant Director Umar Afzal shared that two vocational training centers are operating under the Sahiwal office, where 120 girls are learning stitching and embroidery, while 40 girls are being trained in computer skills. He also informed that two schools run by Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal in Sahiwal are currently educating 240 children.

Over the past two years, financial aid amounting to Rs. 16.6 million has been provided to poor and deserving patients for medical treatment. Additionally, five congenitally deaf and mute children have undergone cochlear implant surgeries. Furthermore, scholarships exceeding Rs. 3.1 million have been distributed among 131 college and university students, and Rs. 850,000 has been granted in aid to 98 persons with disabilities.

The Federal Minister praised the department’s efforts and reiterated that his doors are always open for resolving public issues.
