Today, the Federal Minister for Investment, Mr. Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, met with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Reza Amiri Moghadam.
The meeting involved a detailed discussion on bilateral trade, investment promotion, regional issues, and the recent aggression by India. Both leaders emphasized the need to further expand bilateral economic cooperation and agreed on the establishment of a joint special economic zone, which will help further strengthen economic ties between the two countries in the future.
The Iranian Ambassador highlighted that the Islamic Republic of Iran was the first country to attempt mediation between Pakistan and India and emphasized the importance of sustainable peace and stability in the region. He expressed deep sorrow over the recent aggression by India and conveyed heartfelt condolences for the loss of 26 innocent lives.
Both sides also agreed to enhance close cooperation in order to foster regional stability and strengthen mutual relations.
The meeting was held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, with both countries reaffirming their commitment to continuing close collaboration in the future.
