The Director General of Sistan and Baluchestan Provincial Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization has announced the initiation of personal vehicle traffic through the Rimdan border crossing, marking a significant milestone in cross-border connectivity with Pakistan.
Shahram Mobaraki stated: "For the first time, personal passenger vehicles may now travel via the Rimdan Inauguration of Personal Vehicle Traffic from Rimdan Border: A New Gateway for Travel to Pakistan border. Both Iranian and Pakistani vehicles are authorized to cross through this border, representing a major breakthrough in promoting tourism, trade and international transport, particularly in the southeastern region of the country."
He further highlighted that necessary infrastructure has been established at the Rimdan border to streamline cross-border traffic. Efforts are underway to introduce regular and structured road transport services to major cities in Pakistan, facilitating easier and faster travel and cargo transport for traders, pilgrims, tourists and even local border communities.
Stressing the strategic importance of the Rimdan border terminal in enhancing regional and international transport corridors, Mobaraki noted, "As the closest link to Pakistan's major and densely populated cities, this gateway holds immense potential for expanding bilateral relations. We are optimistic that boosted cooperation between the two nations will lead to increased and more seamless travel through the Rimdan border."
This development is expected to significantly strengthen connectivity, fostering economic and cultural exchanges between Iran and Pakistan.
