Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Pir Syed Imran Ahmad Shah, while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the road carpeting project at the renowned Khokha Bazaar in Sahiwal, remarked that Pakistan is fully capable of safeguarding its sovereignty and dignity. He urged the Indian leadership to act with prudence and refrain from actions that could destabilize the region.
The project, being completed with an allocation of 10 million rupees, is part of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz’s "Saraken Bahal, Punjab Khushhal" (Roads Restored, Prosperous Punjab) initiative.
Federal Minister Pir Syed Imran Ahmad Shah emphasized that the Pakistan Muslim League (N) government is committed to prioritizing the provision of essential civic amenities and that further funding would be sought for the city’s sustained development. He appreciated the business community for their cooperation in the ongoing anti-encroachment drive and highlighted that a significant investment of 120 million rupees is underway to modernize the bazaars, greatly enhancing the shopping experience.
The event was attended by Member of the Provincial Assembly Malik Qasim Nadeem, President of Sahiwal Press Club Muhammad Naeem Sheikh, PML-N workers Imran Baloch, Chaudhry Muhammad Nadeem, and a large number of shopkeepers.
Addressing the gathering, MPA Malik Qasim Nadeem noted that Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz is personally overseeing development efforts in Sahiwal. He added that a major development package is being pursued from the Punjab government to further beautify the city and upgrade civic services.
The ceremony concluded with a special prayer for the relief of Muslims in Gaza and the liberation of Al-Quds (Jerusalem).
