SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE PRIME MINISTER HAROON AKHTAR KHAN VISITS BIOGAS PLANT SITE IN MANGA MANDI, LAHORE

Today, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan, visited the site of Suzuki Company Limited's proposed biogas plant at Manga Mandi, Lahore. Managing Director of Suzuki Company Limited Pakistan, Mr. Hiroshi Kawamura, warmly welcomed Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan upon his arrival.

During the visit, Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan praised Suzuki’s initiative of establishing a biogas plant for vehicles, calling it a vital step toward Pakistan’s clean energy future. He stated that biogas is the future of Pakistan, emphasizing its potential to reduce the country's dependence on costly oil and LNG imports.

Mr. Khan reiterated that the Prime Minister’s "Uraan Vision" is firmly focused on promoting clean and sustainable energy sources. He highlighted that biogas projects like these could bring substantial economic benefits to local farmers while also contributing to environmental protection.

He instructed the concerned stakeholders to ensure the immediate implementation of the biogas plant project, describing it as both environmentally friendly and economically beneficial.

Representatives from Suzuki informed that, where necessary, vehicles could still operate on petrol if gas is unavailable. Mr. Khan assured that the Government of Pakistan fully supports efforts aimed at reducing carbon emissions and transitioning to greener energy solutions.
