Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb met with Mr. Sangbu Kim, World Bank’s Vice President for Digital Transformation. During the meeting, the Finance Minister briefed Mr. Kim on the Government’s digitalization efforts under the Digital Pakistan Policy, with a particular focus on taxation reforms and the end-to-end digitization of FBR in terms of people, process, and technology.
He emphasized the need for horizontal integration across different entities to ensure smooth digital transformation.
The Finance Minister requested the support of the World Bank for the operationalization of the Country Partnership Programme (CPF), leveraging technology for its successful implementation.
He expressed interest in seeking the Bank’s advice on the digital journey of the country and where course correction might be needed. The Finance Minister concluded the meeting by extending an invitation to Mr. Sangbu Kim to visit Pakistan.
