In his statement at the Vulnerable 20 (V20) Ministerial Dialogue on the theme of “Enabling Climate Prosperity,” Finance Minister highlighted the roll-out of the Climate Financial Strategy for Pakistan.
He added that the country is developing a Climate Prosperity Plan and had reached a staff-level agreement with IMF on a new arrangement under the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF).
The Minister underlined that the World Bank’s approved 10-year Country Partnership Programme (CPF) for Pakistan had climate resilience and decarbonization as its important pillars.
He identified the challenges of capacity-building to develop bankable and investable projects and stressed the need for reforms to the international financial architecture to ensure economic resilience, sustainability, and prosperity of countries most vulnerable to climate impacts.
