Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb held a meeting with a team of Citibank led by Mr. Georgi Yordanov, Head of Middle East, Pakistan and Africa (MEPA), on the sidelines of the IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington DC.
The Finance Minister thanked Citibank for its longstanding commitment and contribution to Pakistan’s financial sector. He shared that the country was actively considering returning to commercial credit markets in light of the recent sovereign rating upgrades by international credit agencies, reflecting improved macroeconomic fundamentals and fiscal consolidation.
The two sides also explored potential avenues for future collaboration to further strengthen Pakistan’s integration into global financial markets.
