Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Pir Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, visited the Sahiwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he was warmly welcomed by President Sheikh Azmat Saleem and members of the Executive Committee. While addressing the chamber members, the Federal Minister stated that Pakistan’s economy is gaining stability, and due to the efforts of the Prime Minister and the Chief of Army Staff, the country has successfully averted default. He added that foreign investors are showing growing interest in investing in Pakistan, and a large number of overseas Pakistanis have also expressed confidence in the government and are prepared to invest in the country—contributing to national economic growth. He further remarked that the Prime Minister has fulfilled his promise to the public by reducing electricity prices during difficult times, which will improve the industrial sector. The government, he said, is taking concrete measures to resolve the challenges faced by traders and industrialists, and full support will be extended for the establishment of a new industrial estate in Sahiwal. Present on the occasion were Members of the Provincial Assembly Malik Qasim Nadeem and Muhammad Arshad Malik, Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mehmood, Vice President Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed, former President Rana Waseem Akhtar, Chamber Secretary Muhammad Tariq Awan, Executive Committee Members Sheikh Muhammad Asif, Mian Muhammad Ajmal, Mehr Saqib Rasool, Rana Yaqoob, Rana Qaiser, and other members. The Federal Minister assured the chamber members that providing facilities to local industrialists is essential for regional industrial development, which will also help eliminate unemployment.
