Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, has said that the “Suthra Punjab Programme” is a landmark initiative by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Sahiwal Water and Sanitation Services Company, he stated that for the first time in Punjab’s history, a comprehensive cleanliness plan has been launched for both urban and rural areas. The Minister praised Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s commitment to public welfare, saying her service to the people is evident to all. He emphasized that the Pakistan Muslim League-N government has always prioritized humanitarian service. He credited former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and current Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif for major national projects such as motorways, highways, and universities, adding that under Shahbaz Sharif's leadership, Pakistan will become the "Asian Tiger." He highlighted that the government successfully averted economic default within a year and has reduced electricity bills to provide relief to the public. Diplomatic relations with key countries have been restored, leading to increased foreign investment and job opportunities. The Minister also commended Commissioner Sahiwal, Shoaib Iqbal Syed, for his personal efforts in establishing the company and vowed to enhance Sahiwal's beauty and infrastructure. The event was attended by MPAs Muhammad Arshad Malik, Malik Qasim Nadeem, Naveed Aslam Khan Lodhi, Commissioner Shoaib Iqbal Syed, Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mehmood, Director Development and Finance Shafiq Ahmed Dogar, CEO Iftikhar Ali, CFO Javed Iqbal, political workers, journalists, and a large number of sanitary workers. The ceremony concluded with cake cutting alongside Christian sanitary workers.
