Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Industries and Production Mr. Haroon Akhter visited Korangi Creek Industrial Park in Karachi on Saturday 12th Apr 2025. He presided a meeting with business community of Karachi especially KCIP where he had a detailed discussion on problems faced by business community of the city. After the meeting, he addressed the media and said that Karachi is the epicenter of businesses of Pakistan and that he held a detailed meeting with business community which was fruitful. He shared that business community of Karachi has mentioned some problems regarding land allocation, infrastructure, electricity, gas and taxes. "Success of business community is our success and of course there are few problems which are common in every economy, but overall trajectory of Government and Business community is very good", he commented. In response to a question, Mr. Haroon Akhter said that though tariff on Pakistan is significantly low as compared to other countries but still we are keenly observing global arena and if deemed necessary a representative committee may visit the US subject to the future scenarios. Speaking about electricity prices reduction, SAPM said that under the leadership of PM Shahbaz Sharif it was made possible to reduce the prices and no stone will be left unturned to benefit people of the country in future as well.
