I feel privileged on the inaugural of 51st Governing Body meeting of Pakistan Engineering Council, and esteemed gathering of professionals from all parts of the country belongs to Academia, Industry and Policy Institutions. I am well aware that PEC is a national body to regulate the engineering profession and is highly ranked amongst the international fraternity for its professional contribution with global recognition. In today’s digital age, the role of the Pakistan Engineering Council is more important than ever. This institution is not only the guardian of engineering standards but also laying the foundation for a modern, self-reliant Pakistan. The Ministry of Science and Technology envisions a nation that is advanced in science, innovation, and technology. Engineers are the architects of this vision, turning challenges like energy, digital infrastructure, smart agriculture, and climate adaptation into real solutions. With the support of the Pakistan Engineering Council, we are committed to aligning the curriculum with modern industry needs and integrating emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and the Internet of Things. We are also expanding internship and certification opportunities for youth in both public and private sectors. The government has full confidence in your expertise and expects that, with innovative thinking and active collaboration, you will lead the country towards sustainable development. The briefing to me on PEC new initiatives taken by the Leadership during last six months with complete roadmap and visibility endeavors, are highly commendable. Looking at the zeal and commitment of Chairman Engr Waseem Nazir, I feel confident of him to take the engineering profession on the road to success and prosperity through necessary reforms to produce global competent engineers. I request the Governing Body of the Pakistan Engineering Council to lead as a team with vision, accountability, and innovation. While important reforms may face obstacles, I am confident that your expertise will overcome any barriers to the development of this institution. Let us build bridges, not only at the infrastructural level but also at the institutional and intellectual levels. I assure you of the Ministry of Science and Technology's full support, especially in legislative matters and approvals needed for the Council to function effectively.
