Advisor to the Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui on Thursday termed elections of local bodies across country a positive progress first ever during democratic dispensation and hoped that it would help raise the standard of civic amenities to the citizens.

He expressed these views while talking to the Capital’s first Mayor Sheikh Ansar Aziz, who called on him here in the Ministry of National History and Literary Heritage (NH&LH). Mr. Siddiqui congratulated Sheikh Ansar and his colleagues in the local body elections and said it is a reflection of trust of voters of Federal Capital on PML-N, its leadership and agenda.

“The real test has just begun as the local bodies have to work hard to come up to the aspiration of the masses. People of Islamabad have great expectations from their elected representatives and I hope that Sheikh Ansar along with his team would prove to be a leading example in serving the citizens hailing from Islamabad’s urban and rural areas”, he said.

Sheikh Ansar Aziz thanked the Advisor for the wishes and assured that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif we would strive hard to achieve the target of public service in a befitting manner and according to the vision of our Party. He said we would utilize all resources and potential to bring Islamabad among the top of the best capitals of the World and make it an example of excellence.
