First Batch of Relief Supplies for Myanmar Earthquake Victims Dispatched Under the Supervision of Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry

On the directives of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has arranged to dispatch 70 tons of emergency relief supplies for the victims of the recent devastating earthquake in Myanmar via two chartered flights. In this regard, the first flight carrying 35 tons of relief goods departed from Islamabad International Airport for Yangon, Myanmar. Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry represented the Prime Minister of Pakistan at the send-off ceremony. Officials from NDMA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ambassador of Myanmar were also present on the occasion. The Federal Minister conveyed the Prime Minister of Pakistan’s heartfelt condolences to the leadership of Myanmar and the earthquake-affected people, assuring them of Pakistan’s full solidarity during this difficult time. He stated that under the patronage of the Government of Pakistan, NDMA has effectively organized emergency relief efforts for Myanmar, reflecting Pakistan’s commitment to providing immediate assistance to disaster-hit countries. The relief supplies include essential items such as tents, tarpaulins, blankets, ready-to-eat food, medicines and water filtration units. Upon arrival in Yangon, Pakistan’s Ambassador and Defense Attaché in Myanmar will hand over the relief goods to the Myanmar Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief, and Resettlement. The Ambassador of Myanmar expressed gratitude to the Government and people of Pakistan for their generous assistance in this time of need and commended Pakistan’s timely and compassionate response for the earthquake victims. The second batch of relief supplies (35 tons) will be dispatched soon under the supervision of the relevant authorities.
