Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, held an important meeting today with representatives of private seed manufacturing companies. The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to introducing Green Agriculture Reforms in line with the vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. He emphasized that providing quality and registered seeds to farmers is a top priority to enhance agricultural productivity. Rana Tanveer Hussain stated that the National Regulatory Authority, along with Punjab Agriculture Department field inspectors, is actively regulating seed quality across the country. Highlighting the importance of small farmers, the Minister mentioned that 95% of Pakistan’s farmers are smallholders, and resolving their issues is a top government priority. He further informed that companies producing substandard seeds have been banned, and a special committee has been formed to address and resolve their complaints. The Ministry of National Food Security & Research is fully mobilized under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for farmer welfare and sustainable agricultural development.
