Government Sets Clear Sugar Prices, Warns of Consequences for Violation

The Ministry of Industries and Production would like to clarify that the government has set clear and transparent guidelines for the price of sugar in the market. The retail price of sugar has been fixed at Rs. 164 per kilogram, with the ex-mill price set at Rs. 159 per kilogram or lower. Reports submitted by the provincial governments indicate that the average retail price of sugar in Sindh is Rs. 168 per kilogram and in Punjab, it is Rs. 164 per kilogram or lower. These figures are close to the government-set prices. The Ministry urges all stakeholders in the sugar trade, including vendors and consumers, to remain informed about the official prices and report any discrepancies. The Ministry is committed to taking swift action against those who are exploiting the situation and violating government-set prices.
