Pakistan and China Strengthen Digital Cooperation – Minister for IT & Telecom

Federal Minister for IT & Telecom, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, met with the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Jiang Zaidong, to discuss enhancing digital cooperation between the two countries. The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration in emerging technology, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and digital governance, aligning with Pakistan’s vision for a digitally empowered future. The Chinese side reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Pakistan’s digital transformation efforts. During the meeting, discussions were held on launching training programs for Pakistani students in artificial intelligence and data sciences at leading Chinese institutions. Both sides also explored training initiatives in ICT capacity-building, digital leadership, and artificial intelligence applications to enhance Pakistan’s technological capabilities. Minister Shaza Fatima emphasized the importance of leveraging China’s expertise in digital governance for Pakistan’s development. Pakistan and China also deliberated on expanding exchange programs and skill development initiatives to foster innovation and technological advancement. Minister Shaza Fatima reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to strengthening its partnership with China to accelerate the country’s digital transformation, improve citizen services, and create new economic opportunities in the ICT sector.
