A flag hoisting ceremony was held at Pakistan House, Singapore, to commemorate the 85th National Day of Pakistan. A large number of members of the Pakistani community and staff of the High Commission attended the flag-hoisting ceremony. High Commissioner, Rabia Shafiq, hoisted the flag to the tune of the National Anthem, followed by the messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, read out by Mr. Salman Mahmood, Deputy High Commissioner, and Press Counsellor, Mr. Athar Zeb Abbasi respectively. The High Commissioner, in her remarks, said that March 23rd reminds us of the struggle and sacrifices of the Muslims of the subcontinent for a separate homeland and we should do everything in our capacity to keep the Pakistani flag flying high. She appreciated the contribution of overseas Pakistani Community as ambassadors of our culture as well as for strengthening Pakistan's economy by sending remittances. The ceremony ended with prayers for the victims and families of the terrorist attack on Jaffer Express as well as for the security, stability, and economic prosperity of Pakistan in line with the vision of our founding fathers.
