Senator Irfan Siddiqui, the Parliamentary Party Leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the Senate and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, stated that the boycott of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security is fully in line with the politics of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). In a statement posted on his social media account 'X' on Wednesday, the senior PML-N leader said that only this party (PTI) could prioritize insisting on meeting a convicted prisoner over formulating a strategy to counter terrorism, which has claimed the lives of 93,000 Pakistanis. He further remarked that this is the same prisoner who, even during his tenure as Prime Minister, never attended any parliamentary forum on national security. The statement comes at a time when the country is grappling with political and security challenges, sparking significant debate in political circles.
