Word Bank discusses Collaboration with Ministry of Science and Technology on NQI Quality Standards for Exports
Islamabad: March 03, 2025

A delegation of the World Bank held meetings with Federal Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology, Engr. Sajid Baloch. The Secretary gave a detailed presentation on the National Quality Infrastructure (NQI), including work being done by Organizations of Ministry like PSQCA, PNAC, PCSIR, NMIP, PHA, for Quality Standards and Conformity Assessment, ensuring ease of doing business for the exporters. Both sides discussed the proposals for sectoral reforms in detail in the National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) and assessing various constraints in meeting export market compliance. The optimal use of digitalization and upgradation of equipment, along with capacity building was seen as a way forward. Both sides committed to enhance engagement in future aiming to enhance exports.
