Federal Minister for Housing and Works Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada chaired a special meeting held at FGEHA. Agenda of the meeting was to discuss the perspectives and significant features of digital portal that the authority will be launching for its members in the next month. Objective of automation is to enhance transparency, improve service delivery and financial sustainability by digitalization of processes. This portal featuring versatile options for registered members with speedy operations, convenience and easy access to information. This portal will have comprehensive database with the option of online payment through 1Link. It will provide SMS alert service, user Dashboard for every ongoing project, finances and transaction history, cost escalation information, complaint cell and information of ownership and liability at one site. At the start of the meeting, minster was given a detail overview of the portal that the authority had been working on for more than a year. He applauded the earnest efforts of the whole team that participated to actualize the digital portal and termed it a step towards e-governance that is among the top priorities of current government. He showed full confidence in the team of FGEHA and went on saying that he did not believe in unnecessary interference in the administrative affairs. He desired strict discipline and chain of command to be followed in all attached department of the ministry. Minister further said that FGEHA is a staff welfare and not-for-profit organization that must be service oriented. Maximum transparency and actualizing should be ensured on part of this organization through merit-based systems and upright administration. While referring to the stalled projects of FGEHA, minister empathetically said that he is aware of the agony of members who have been waiting for years to get their own house by investing their hard-earned money. Thousands of employees both serving and retired are waiting since long and their wait should be over now. Minister stressed to ensure a 24/7 complain redressal system with special focus on fast and user-friendly digital mobile application.
