A meeting regarding ‘Prime Minister’s Mark-up free Financing for Solar Tube-wells Scheme in the Country’, announced under Kissan Package, was held in the Ministry of NFS&R on 24.2.2016 under the Chairmanship of Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research, Sikandar Hayat Khan Boson. The meeting was attended by the representatives of Provincial Agriculture Departments (Water Management and Agri Engineering) of Punjab, KPK, Balochistan including representatives of Gilgit Baltistan, ICT, State Bank of Pakistan, ZTBL, Finance Division and Planning Commission of Pakistan. Additional Secretary, M/O NFS&R welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of the meeting. Director General Federal Water Management Cell presented the status of actions taken by the Ministry since December 2015 besides briefing the participants on draft PC-I and Standard Operating procedures developed for smooth implementation of the scheme in Pakistan. The Minister highlighted the role of provincial departments not only in creating awareness about the scheme amongst the farming community but in successful implementation of the scheme in accordance with the criteria approved by the honorable Prime Minister. He urged the provincial departments to actively participate for successful implementation of the scheme.
