PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY FOR HUMAN RIGHTS ATTENDS LAUNCH OF “TOGETHER FOR TOLERANCE: STRENGTHENING MINORITY RIGHTS & INCLUSION” PROJECT

The Parliamentary Secretary for Human Rights, Ms. Saba Sadiq, participated as a keynote speaker at the launch of the “Together for Tolerance: Strengthening Minority Rights & Inclusion” project, organized by the Parliamentarians Commission for Human Rights (PCHR). The event was held today at Hotel Best Western, Islamabad. In her address, Ms. Saba Sadiq underscored the importance of inclusivity and interfaith harmony as foundational pillars for a united and diverse Pakistan. She reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to protecting minority rights and fostering tolerance as enshrined in the Constitution of Pakistan. She lauded the efforts of PCHR, CSJ, and their partners, including EU representatives, TDEA, HRCP, AGHS, and UNDP, for their collaborative efforts to advance these vital values. The event was also graced by the presence of Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, who expressed his support for the initiative. He highlighted the invaluable contributions of religious minorities to Pakistan’s history and ongoing development. The “Together for Tolerance” project represents a commendable initiative by civil society organizations to address barriers to inclusivity and cultivate a culture of equality, respect, and interfaith dialogue. Ms. Saba Sadiq reaffirmed the Ministry of Human Rights' commitment to supporting projects that align with its mission to promote and protect the rights of all citizens, irrespective of their religious or social backgrounds.
