The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) convened the 12th meeting of its Executive Committee on 14 January 2025 to review progress on development of project pipeline being prepared by SIFC through international consultants. The forum was also briefed about the roles of various stakeholders to realise the recently launched economic initiative 'Uraan Pakistan' programme by Government of Pakistan with specific focus on bringing export led investment in various sectors. The meeting was chaired by the Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives and attended by concerned Federal Ministers, National Coordinator SIFC, Federal Secretaries, representatives from provinces and high-level government officials. The Secretary Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives briefed the forum about important contours of 'Uraan Pakistan' programme and highlighted the role of various stakeholders in manifestation of the programme, while Minister Information and Broadcasting presented the media strategy to support the initiative. The Committee endorsed the 'Uraan Pakistan' programme and vowed to translate the economic programme into actionable strategy to reap the envisioned dividends through a collaborative approach, utilising the ‘Whole of the Nation’ approach using forum of SIFC. The CEO Public Private Partnership Authority (P3A) presented progress on ongoing international consultancy support to ministries and departments. The Committee gave directions to fast-track the ongoing effort with special emphasis on industrialization, critical infrastructure and HRD to develop a comprehensive repository of investable projects in each sector to realize the sovereign commitments made by friendly countries.
