Federal Minister for Housing and Works Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada attended the launching ceremony of the book titled ‘Kalyam Kooch-i-Ishq’ as Chief Guest. The book has been co-authored by Syed Ahmad Iqbal Tirmazi and Iftikhar Ahmad Hafiz Qadri and the launching ceremony was held in Pakistan Academy of Letters in Islamabad. Former President of Islamic International University Sahibzada, Dr. Sajid ur Rehman presided over the session, while Dean of Social Sciences Ilama Iqbal Open University Professor Dr. Abdul Aziz Sahir was the guest of honor at the event. President of the Pakistan Academy of Letters Professor Dr. Najeeba Arif also graced the occasion. Other speakers included Director General Pakistan Academy of Letters Pakistan Sultan M. Nawaz Nasir, and Sahibzada Professor Rashad Masood Kalyami. The book is based on the biography, teachings, and discourses (Malfuzaat) of Hazrat Mian Fazul ud Din Kalyami – a saint belonging to the town of Kalyam situated in tehsil Gujar Khan. The book has been published to mark his 133rd death anniversary. Addressing the ceremony, the minister highlighted the role of mystics and saints in spreading Islam in the subcontinent, and their teachings were based on humility, tolerance, brotherhood and peace. Minister expressed that the seminal work reflects that the Sufis played a instrumental role in shaping our understanding of the faith, and their contributions continue to inspire and guide us to this day. He said, Hazrat Mian Fazluddin Kalyami (R.A.) was disciple of Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Ganjshakar (R.A.) and was known for his piety wisdom, and spiritual prowess. The Minister also pointed out the relevance of Sufi teachings of affection and brotherhood in today’s time of despair. He called for more such initiatives to introduce mystics to the current generations and promote peace, harmony, and brotherhood. Moreover, He stressed the importance of preserving and promoting Sufi literature, considering it a key to foster understandings among diverse communities. He congratulated the authors for making an excellent contribution to the Sufi literature by writing on spiritual life of Hazrat Mian Fazluddin Kalyami Kalyami (R.A.). Former President of Islamic International University Sahibzada, Dr Sajid ur Rehman, said that Hazrat Mian Fazluddin Kalyami Kalyami (R.A.) was also known for his spirituality and human well-wishing, which continues to inspire and guide seekers of truth to this day. Dr. Sajid ur Rehman elaborated on the timeless wisdom imparted by Mian Fazluddin Kalyami, highlighting his contributions as a spiritual guide whose work continues to inspire generations for a century. Professor Dr Abdul Aziz Sahir noted the importance of sharing the stories and teachings of such great mystics with future generations, to keep alive their spirit of devotion and love for humanity. He praised the authors for their effort in bringing forth the spiritual legacy of the great Sufi personality. Further, Professor Dr. Najeeba Arif shed light on Hazrat Mian Fazluddin Kalyami Kalyami’s ability to perform miracles and his deep understanding of the mystical dimensions of Islam. She maintained that his legacy in the form of impeccable character, teachings and spiritual guidance will keep on persuading thousands of followers. On this occasion, Sahibzada Professor Rashad Masood Kalyami said that Hazrat Mian Kalyami was a mystic of the Sabriya branch of the Chishti Order. He commended the effort of authors who had beautifully narrated the teachings of a Sufi who underscored the importance of introspection, self-reflection, and inner purification.
