IPO-PAKISTAN AND IPRE JOIN HANDS TO STRENGTHEN INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS ENFORCEMENT

In a significant move to bolster the enforcement of intellectual property rights in Pakistan, the Chairperson of IPO-PAKISTAN, Ambassador (R) Farukh Amil, called on the Director General of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRE), Mr. Abdul Qadir Memon, at Custom House Karachi. During the meeting, both leaders agreed to enhance cooperation between their organizations to address the challenges facing the enforcement of intellectual property rights in Pakistan. They emphasized the need for joint efforts to raise awareness about the importance of intellectual property rights and to build capacity among law enforcement agencies. The Chairperson of IPO-PAKISTAN highlighted the importance of protecting intellectual property rights to promote innovation, creativity, and economic growth. He emphasized that effective enforcement of intellectual property rights was critical to attracting foreign investment and promoting trade. The Director General of IPRE welcomed the Chairperson's suggestions for joint advocacy panels at training institutions and invited him to address new officers and probationers. He underscored his organization's resolve to prosecute violators of intellectual property rights, stressing that they were not just business people but criminals. The meeting marked a significant milestone in the efforts to strengthen intellectual property rights enforcement in Pakistan. Both organizations have pledged to work together to promote a culture of innovation and creativity in the country.
