Embassy of Pakistan showcases Cultural Heritage at the 11th Winternational Festival 2024
Over 60 embassies gather to represent their culture at the global event

The Embassy of Pakistan participated in the 11th edition of the Winternational Festival 2024, highlighting Pakistan's vibrant colors, rich culture, and warm hospitality. The event, held at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, DC, featured over 60 embassies showcasing their unique traditions, cuisine, and cultural heritage. The Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, attended the event's inauguration and toured various stalls, including the Pakistani pavilion, engaging with participants and visitors. Speaking at the occasion, Ambassador Rizwan Saeed emphasized the critical role such festivals play in fostering cultural understanding and strengthening ties among nations. “Events like Winternational serve as a vital conduit between communities, fostering cohesion and understanding through the universal mediums of arts and culture,” said the Ambassador. The Pakistani stall formed a standout attraction at the festival, drawing large crowds with its delectable cuisine, fascinating Truck Art display, and a stunning collection of gemstones and handcrafted jewelry. Calling Pakistan a treasure trove of history and cultural heritage, Ambassador Rizwan Saeed invited participants to enjoy the beauty and flavors of the country reflected in its crafts and cuisine. “Pakistan represents a rich repository of history and cultural heritage, which is splendidly exemplified in the artworks and exhibitions we present today. The Embassy of Pakistan remains committed to showcasing the country’s rich heritage and fostering connections through cultural exchange,” he added. Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh also congratulated the organizers for their dedication to promoting global harmony and mutual respect through cultural diplomacy. Highlighting the significance of the day, Kimberly A. Bassett, Secretary of the District of Columbia, presented an official proclamation from Mayor of the District of Columbia Muriel Bowser, declaring December 5th as Winternational Day in Washington, DC. First Secretary Ifrah Tariq, Press and Culture Attaché Zaigham Abbas, Head of Chancery Dr. Tahir Jamil and Embassy staff curated Pakistan’s vibrant festival presence at this mega-annual event.
