A high-level delegation of Oman called on Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja on Thursday. Matters of mutual interest and relating to boosting cooperation in the field of IT and Telecommunication, cybersecurity, digitalization and startups were discussed in the meeting. Special Secretary IT and Telecom Division Azfar Manzoor and Member International Coordination Imad Memon were also present in the meeting. The delegation gave detailed presentation on Global tech event 'COMEX 2025' to be held in Oman in September next year, and invited Pakistan's tech companies to participate in the event . Minister of State for IT Shaza Fatima said Pakistan’s IT & Telecom sector has great potential, adding that tech event COMEX 2025 will be helpful in strengthening links between Pakistan and Oman tech companies. She said Pakistan wanted to enhance ties with Oman in the field of IT and Telecom sector. Pakistan and Oman can jointly work in the field of cybersecurity and startups, adding that the two countries can benefit from each other's experiences in the field of IT and Telecommunication. Meanwhile, addressing the Youth Safety Summit, Minister of State for IT Shaza Fatima said today is the era of technology and it is vital to create awareness about cybersecurity. She said children were facing various challenges on online platforms, adding that children online protection is our collective responsibility. She said different programs are underway for youth welfare and their empowerment . She said cybersecurity issues are becoming more complex in this age of digitalization. She said that US Senate passed Children online Privacy Protection Act. She said today over four million youth are linked to online activities. There is dire need of creating awareness regarding the preparation of social media content, she added./Ends
